The Client Challenge V2 Beta

A client requested that I design a 50th anniversary logo for his company. Having done so I receive this reply:

"Can you provide us with more examples. We don't like the big 50 in the middle and we don't like the word Anniversary."

That is funny, makes you wonder sometimes why you bother doesn't it!!!!! There are good times though...

maybe you could try the logo with a small 50 or try using 40 to see if they like that better!!!!! Thanks that made me laugh.

Use Roman Numerals. . . Hmm lets see Fifty in roman numerals is . .

L! L! so say:

'Lth Commemoration.'

Ok I kid I kid.

Did you try writing out 'Fifty' and just use 'years' instead of Anniversary?

So you could do Fifty Years going strong or something. . .

Or do 50 small as sidesey says and use years old instead of Anniversary.

Happy Birthday!! lol

I just thought of something. . . maybe they mean that they don't like the 'Word' Anniversary meaning the 'Typeface' that you may be using. Sometimes non designers don't know the terms so they use what they know to explain what they mean: i.e word=typeface

hmm worth a shot to ask them for more clarification. :)

that's awesome. i've had clients do that..
I've found the best way to cut down on those problems is to present stuff in person. If you can't do that (cause of distance or time-budget) then I call them up and say "hey, i JUST emailed you, lets review it together". This tends to avoid any problems of miss worded feedback. I've had this happen to me several times as some of my older clients are "back home" in Montreal and I now live in Vegas. Some of my clients are french, and sadly as much as it's my mother tongue, i forget some of the slang and sayings and so i don't always understand what they're trying to tell me unless it's on the phone.

With that said, I'm curious if they want a "Happy L years!" LOL

good luck!
