The Impact of Design for Nature Conservancy

Roberto Llerena's picture

Visual Design is a great vehicle for quick responds on good reactions for preserving the environment, this is well done in many web-pages, news papers magazines and TV ads and programs that have impact positively in populations all over the world.

The subject in this topic is; how to properly communicate the importance of this conservation programs in other countries instead of ours.

If you produce any kind of pollution in the air, this will affect the atmosphere.
If you produce water contamination in your near river or water stream you will affect the oceans.
If you chop the trees up hill you may destroy the marine life.

But the problem is that almost all the campaigns designs for this mater are local oriented an very little is done to produce results in underdeveloped countries like; Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Namibia, etc.. and this countries lack of education is producing the fast decaying of... the Caribbean Coral Reefs for example.

How to produce local campaigns to make people active in investing their money for other countries nature recovery trough serious institutions and international foundations? This efforts will be oriented to create conscience on the world population as a whole.

Thank for your attention, I will love to hear from your points of view.
Roberto.

in my opinion is always

in my opinion is always easier to disregard something thats not relevant to your region, country. its far away, i have my own problems, here. i might never go there in my life. its sad, but i dont see how i can do anything about it if its on the other side of the planet.

its something like: if i dont see the car around the corner, well is not there for me and it has no relevance to me. of course, this fact is wrong, especially when dealing with things such as environment, animal species, etc.

to answer your question, i will push forward the idea that is in fact your problem, is my cheetah thats dying there, its my forest thats being chopped of.

how can that affect me in my daily life, how can that affect things familiar to me, or actions that i do daily?

a few ideas,
in the near future i'll have to pay 1,000$ to take my kid to the zoo.
i will have to work for that 2 years, and instead of taking that ski vacation in Alps, a zoo will be the most cool thing you could do. because there are so few animals left.

or having a lawn is now easy. i just have to cut it and maybe water it.
but in the near future i might be forced to have a lawn inside the house,
because outside is impossible to grow anything.

anyway, im sure you could find better, catchier scenarios.

always outnumbered, never outgunned

NEVER OUTGUNNED...

I like your lawn inside the house idea, is extreme of course but if is well realized FOR TV or printed ads, can be very funny and produce dramatic impact at the same time.
International or local funds for realizing this ideas can be obtained if a group of persons can make a foundation, association or other kind of community people groups, who cares for the future of our planet health and can act together as one to obtain the growing funds for this maters.
Advertising and commercial art are just a path for better ways to express your art and feelings through the media, mayor results can be obtained if we can use our learnings in the field.
Thanks Flub, Well said, good feelings in your spirit.
