Its getting better because it now (without text) tells me its about snowboarding in someway.
Could you simplify this logo down anymore?
What if you lose the box?
The font is better this time round but im still not sure its working for this... still feels a bit generic?

I like the snowboarder. It might be kind of cool to make the icon look like the NBA or Major League Baseball logo, although that's been done. It seems like the snowboarder is busting out of the box you have him in anyway. I do like the icon, though.
I think the text is what needs work. It seems like there is some inconsistency in your kerning. "Organization" is tight, except for in between the n and the i, and "snowboard" is much tighter than "club". I also don't like the ragged right text under the square logo. It feels like both lines of text should be even with the edges of the box.
I think you can get there from here with this logo, just keep plugging away.
think outside the box man! You're last version was confined in a box as is this one. Let it loose, I don't snowboard but I think I know a bit about the culture and they certainly wouldn't be represented by something so confining, especially if it is a snowboarder confined withinin a box.
Stylize it. While I certainly think the snowboarder is working better than that "o" it is just that...a snowboarder. It looks like you either traced a picture of one really well or just let live trace do the work. (It's not a knock on you, I know I do it too) With that being said, I think your next step is to stylize this current illustration. The bits o snow are definately not working perhaps the snow is better represented by an agresssive curve (or "swoosh" if you will).
I would worry about the symbol first then the layout, right now you are already confining your design to a box.

this logo is really coming along
I'd try a bit more rough stuff with the font (maybe distress a typeface or the background behind the type?) or maybe a sloppy old english or something like that? It just looks a bit too much like a ski park sign with that font - though i do see where you were going with it.
Incidentally a great place to get inspiration for this is the artwork in the new SSX game from EA. There are a lot of rough-looking pencil illustrations. you might get some good ideas as to what to do with the font.
really though - it's looking a hundred times better than when you started.
The only things that really bother me are the amount of distance between the boarder's hand and board, and the box that surrounds them. They either need to be pulled further away from the border, or even better, just merge with the border to create some interesting negative spaces.
Also, the way "organization" does not reach across to the right side of the border looks somewhat sloppy. Or just loosen up the kerning on "organization" because the word looks way too squished.
Otherwise, the logo looks good. I really like the clean serif font, helvetica is very common, but I don't think it matters in this case. Also, the cutout of the snowboarder looks great.

I've been looking at this logo for a couple of days now... I couldn't put into words what bothered me, but now that I realized it — it's pretty simple. It looks too formal for a snowboard logo. Print it, put the print on the floor. Step on it. Go over it with a skateboard. Wash it in your jeans pocket and make your dog eat it. Once you get the print back, scan it and you will get a proper snowboard logo. Sorry, I carried away, but you know what I mean...
