This is a logo I am developing for a non-governmental organization in my home town. We started it some 4 years ago. Being of one of the key founder of the project and as an artist, and the communication director, it has been my job to create the identity. This is just a sketch of what I have in mind. Any comments are welcome.

I see some possibilities in incorporating the Pillars into the word itself maybe in the 'L's' Seems very corporate and severe is this the kind of organisation it is?

I'd make it B&W, lose the blue circle and use a more Roman font (Caligula or Trajan - they're nice and a bit distressed: perfect).
This will necessitate the relocation of the pillars themselves. Above the type, perhaps.
