Tiger Router problem
Charlie D (384 pencils) | Wed, 2005-05-04 03:24I installed tiger today, I then could not connect to the internet. I restarted my router and cable modem and computer....no connection, tried again, same thing, no connection.
I can hook up my cable modem directly to my computer, no problem, try to connect my router, no dice. My internet was working just fine in panther w/ the router connected for a long time, now with tiger installed it wont work.
Any one have any clue on how to fix this?

Check if the make of the Router has a new firmware for it..
Always have the latest..
I guess ill just go to microsoft's site and look for firmware. Thanks.
just did, looks like only windows version available, damnit! Any other suggestions other than buying a new router. Or never buy microsoft?

Does Microsoft makes hardware routers? LOL didn't knew that
or are you meaning you got a windows machine as a router *sigh*
I got it because I wanted to connect my xbox wirelessly so I bought what they suggested for xbox, the microsoft wireless router and xbox live wireless reciever that connects to the xbox.
If I can't get this thing working anytime soon, what brands do you suggest? Linksys? I'm a wireless noob that just wants to be able to play my xbox and use my one computer!

I have an Airport Extreme. Works very well, except for a bug that I can't enable web sharing or ftp over it for some reason.
a few people on apple's discussion board had similiar problems with the same brand and different brands of wireless routers...all those with airports seem to be fine.

Ok now I don't have any more harsh feelings about tiger, now i'm back in business its like i'm using good old panther!
