Time Tracking in PS, ID, and others

I have small question for you design guys and gals out there. How do you guys track time spent on a project within an application? As some may know Photoshop has the option to add time tracking within a document (if you don't know, search for History in the help file). But InDesign (at least CS) does not. And other applications don't either to the best of my knowledge. I have seen a few plugins lie Tick Tock (for ID) and a free script to keep time, but I wonder if this is not already included or if there is an easier way to track time spent!
Here is the reason I ask. I have always done my time tracking via the nice little clocks that are spread around my office, but now and then I am so cought up in a project that I simply forget to take a look once I switch to another client's project or run into something else. When billing time comes around I try my best to estimate the timing, but I tend to shave it down, just in case. I'd like to know the exact time I spent retouching an image or laying out a brochure. So that at a minimum I know how long it took me to that part of the project. (How do I know I am getting faster at certain tasks?)
While this is definately not fool proof and still doesn't account for time spent looking for stock images, taking photos, sketching, and a load of other tasks, it does help out us souls who have to either stay within a budget or answer the dreadful question of the client: "Exactly how much time does it take you to do this, cause I'm in a hurry?"
I think this might be quite informative, so let's hear it.

Not sure if it does what you want by application but I use iBiz (used to be iWork). It does the job for me and takes care of invoicing and everything pretty well too.
also lookup billings and iratchet
I use file filemaker pro 8. its great. I keep up with time billing, invoicing, assets and if you are on a mac it runs great. A little pricy but worth it. If i had any other database solutions for anything (idont) its great for that too im told.
