Titanium Brochure
Anchor (15 pencils) | Sun, 2008-03-16 12:43Hey all! I'm working on a catalogue brochure for a Titanium Jewelry place! Ive started a bit of a concept with "the diamond ring" part of a solar eclipse, because Ive seen that, and its pretty intense. However, I know I'm leaving the whole Titanium feel out and I don't just want to add a brushed steel background! So what do you reckon? Does the whole black and white only theme work for you? Or should I go with some gradients of black and grey!? (Ive been experimenting with a few).
I also don't really know what I'm going to do to follow through with the eclipse theme in the rest of the brochure. At this stage, black strip header boxes is it! So any suggestions there would be most welcome! :-)
(PS Didn't design this logo, so can't change it!)

I like the black and white treatment. I would only use gray sparingly within--80% black for subheads, for example, and callout boxes with a 15% black backer.
If budget allows, I would introduce metallic silver ink into the design--use it in rules, bulleting, etc.
For the theme, I would work in the varying stages of the eclipse (moon and sun dead center) and have the spread that each moon-sun set's on reflect in shade the strength that the sun would be at that particular point. For example, first spread would equal 100% white background, the next would have a 20% overall grey, and continue darkening throughout until the last spread that would be 100% black. Added bonus--dark backgrounds should assist in enhancing the richness of the jewelry.
ttfn!
