Facebook vanity URL

Starting a few hours ago you can set a unique Facebook URL for your profile. It lets you easily direct friends, family, and coworkers to your profile with a Facebook username that will have this format: http://www.facebook.com/username/
Few things to remember:
- Grab it asap, there are 20 million users fishing for good names
- The URL must be at least 5 characters long and it can include a dot.
- You can not change it once set, so think of something you're ok with in 5 years down the line.
This exercise should be part of your overall strategy to securing your online identity.

Switch the link to www.facebook.com/username instead. The one you wrote leads to a 404 page, while using "username" leads to the set up page.
I fixed it.

I was amazed the first options were strange number combinations (the number 1 after my first name) and my firstname.lastname. Only after clicking through once for other options did I see my name without the dot. That's just ludicrous, aye?
