Biggest achievement for me would be national advertising campaigns that are ongoing with posters/flyers in 600 high street stores.
I specialise in corporate branding but fill in a lot of the gaps with much more lucrative marketing work which is incredibly boring but easy.
Anything & everything, loads of dance and UK indie.

I own a graphics studio, but that's play; where I work is at home, which is a little bit of a farm. I grow almost everything my husband and I eat except what comes from animals, which I try to limit to those whose home addresses I know.
What's your biggest design achievement?
Having earned a reputation that brings people to my doorstep by word of mouth. That feels so good. And saves on advertising, too!
What do you prefer to do within the design field?
Ink on paper. I like projects that let me articulate the client's message from scratch, and with -- oh, come on, let's just say it -- a HUGE budget. The more spot varnish, the merrier. I've gotten way past loving to pull rabbits out of hats for clients with $17 to spend, you know? I know what Web sites should look like and how they should behave, but I know almost nothing about how to make them happen. Ain't gonna take the time to teach this to myself, either: isn't that why outsourcing was invented?
What music do you like?
I'm still a sucker for Simon and Garfunkel after all these years. Back when I was in college (theatre major), I ran the follow spot for a concert of theirs. Hearing their work always takes me to a happy place. And I like classical music, the more fabulously dramatic, the better (I go all gooey over Ravel, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Brahms, Mahler, and that crowd. Lately, the work of Finnish opera composer Kaija Saariaho intrigues me. I almost couldn't breathe all the way through "L'Amour de loin." France claims her now. Lucky France.

See S&G, above. Favorite orchestra conductors are all dead, alas. Happily, though, my husband can play all their old records for me on a mind-blowing system he designed for just that sort of thing. We both also love the work of Mari Boine, who has devoted her life to focusing awareness on her ancestral Sami culture. I'm a pretty good hand drummer, so I have a massive collection of records by master drummers like the late Babatunje Olatungi, with whom had the honor of studying many years ago, and enjoy participating in drum circles at festivals of the sort where you're likely to find drum circles.

I have a Live Journal account for occasional political rants and works of fiction that no one here -- no, not even Paula -- is old enough to read without parental supervision. I also contribute frequently to blogs at The Washington Post Online. Editors and columnists call me sometimes to argue, which I think is cooler than anything else on earth.

What's your biggest design achievement? I would just like to say the achievement is doing this since I was in high school - every year I learn more and get better and I love that my career is doing what I LOVE to do - creative stuff. Not a lot of people out there get to claim that.
What do you prefer to do within the design field? Anything full color with design. I especially love working in Photohsop. But ultimately, what keeps me happy is VARIETY in my work - I like to move from one day doing print design to the next tweaking online content.
