Total line length in Illustrator 9.0?

Is there a way to calculate a total length for a set of lines in Illustrator 9.0?

Two easy ways that I can think of...

1) Use the measuring tool (looks like a ruler)

2) Select all of them and the total length and width will appear in the info palette.

Sorry, Art D., I wasn't very clear. I have a bunch (>100) of randomly oriented lines (actually they are stone walls traced from an aerial photo of a place in Rhode Island). Selecting all of the lines and checking the Info window shows me the dimensions of the bounding box, but not total line length. It think the ruler method would be too cumbersome. What am I missing? Maybe there's a way to export to another vector program that would do the calc quickly?

Don't think you're missing anything. As far as I know - there is no easy way to do what you're asking. Sorry.
