Nice design... The curvey floats are a little too much though. Leave it wood throughout and it would look a lot better. You're mixing styles.

I appreciate how well it's done and the idea etc. but my personal taste is I prefer simply less image heavy websites.
Good job though and FYI I agree with Mintsauce.
Could you maybe make the compass smaller and put it somewhere it doesn't attract so much attention but becomes an element of the overall design.
The content heirarchy for me is a little messed up. First thing I see is the compass second are the pictures.
