Tshirt Design for Dance Recital
aldo (121 pencils) | Fri, 2009-04-03 17:22this is a design for a tshirt... the theme for this years dance revue is "Tune In" (tv theme songs etc)... this is the design i came up with... i have about another day or two with this design, so no redesigns - just looking for some tweaks - somethings still off to me...
thanks,

I like it so far. Not sure why they chose "tune in" for a theme for a dance thing...?
Stick to retro fonts if that's the feel you're going for. The "2009" and the "CDA Dance center" look out of place next to the font for "Tune In"
Maybe make some shapes behind the TV (like bigger bubbles or polygons) so it's more dynamic and less flat-looking.
I think what might be bothering you is that your design contains too many different perspectives. Two or three can make for a fun kind of dynamism in a piece like this, but your elements are just fighting each other for control.
I also agree with Stephanie that you need to stick to retro fonts. .

I agree, some elements like the fonts in the bottom right corner don't fit the retro look. Otherwise I like.
ok i totally gotcha with the fonts fighting for control - that IS the problem - the cda dance center on the bottom of the tv is the logo for the dance school - i already tried to get her to put it on the back neck area, but blah, blah she wants it on the front - ill probably make it smaller anyway... the logo is killin this one because she didnt decide to add it until after i had the design done without it...
yeah, the 2009 font has to be changed - agreed... no total redesign because im doing this job out of the kindness of my heart ;-)
good advice guys thx...
don't put the CDA Dance Center logo smack in the middle of your design. why not put that on the front breast pocket area and then put the design on the back?
I would put it under the design, beside or on the front rather than on the tv.
Also, What do you think about making the dots the same colors?
I like it though! Nice, I'd wear it.
