The end perspective of your film strip is odd and doesn't look like it properly wraps around the heart, I'd fix that up a bit. The weight is also very heavy on the top right- some shape /angular reworkings to try and balance the logo would be helpful too.
I don't know if it's just me, but subconsciously I'm getting a feeling of Mickey mouse / Disney movie from this, and the heart is only apparent because of your description.
I'd reboot, as I don't think that the concept of 'reel love' is being fully realized with the current form imho.

Bright color on white is eye-searing. Idea is good. I'd tweak it a little to be a combination heart/film projector, it's almost there already.

You haven't done your research... There is an obvious and fun solution here that you're missing. Go do a Google image search for "reel to reel camera" and then show us what you've come up with.
