Anyway, what I wanted to ask was for good type. What sans serifs and serifs would you recommened I should have? I don't want them for anything in particualr, I just want to purchase some good fonts and have them ready in my "toolbox."
Also, when using type on a image/graphic, what should one cosider? What kind of type is used where? Anyone understand that?

Well, first of all, get ready to spend some bucks buying professional fonts. They can get expensive! Also, the fonts you use really depend on what application they will be used for. I personally wouldn't recommend you just buying a bunch of commercial fonts just to "have". Some of them you might not ever use once you start doing some projects. The other big factor is your design style. Some designers like to use more of classic style fonts, using fonts like Gill Sans or Optima. Others might design with more "trendy" typefaces. I just wouldn't blow money on fonts that I'm not positive I would use. Hope this helps.
when buying fonts make sure they are full complete sets. it should include proper numerals, small caps, etc. if you use other languages you might find fonts which have central european and cyrillic, greek etc. versions. there is nothing worth than bad combination of two fonts in one document because the designer couldn't find the same style for the different language.
Yeah, I understand you Craig.
But if I was to buy some good fonts, where's the place to look? Any websites which will offer a range of typefaces? Is there a website where you can like search for a certain typeface? Like with getty image search?
Ivan, I've found with some of the fonts I got for free, they don't have the puncuation characters lolz. I'll bear that in mind when buying a font. Thanks
if i were to buy fonts i would buy them from Adobe.
