I think I see where you want to go with this...I like the idea very much. The colors and type (UN) remind me too much of Yahoo! You don't need the reference...the message is powerfull enough on it's own.

Just adjust your X axis a bit (m0ove the art a bit to the right). Let's work with this...the message is very important.

I'm not sure about this, it took me a while to work out what the various elements represented. Definitely needs work. Maybe the little white chappie needs to be wearing a UN helmet or other parts of the usual UN troop uniform.
Maybe some element to represent Lebanon wouldn't go amiss too - they could be sitting on a map showing southern Lebanon perhaps.
