Alrighty guys, go easy on me.
K so my friend wanted a logo for a club she is starting up at the University. Her "team" named it Hip Hop Movement, which i thought is so generic. anyways. this is the logo I've come up with. The club is to teach people breakdancing and other hip hop styles. they will also hold battles and events.
The logo is obviously a star, but with light beams shining on it. My reasoning for this is "you're the star, its time to shine" a bit cheesy but i thought that would work for an educational setting.
I did consider colors, but the black is clean and sexy. maybe too professional for a hip hop club?
lemme know your thoughts.

clean and hip hop are mutually exclusive. Look at Def Jams logo. This is pretty cool, I like the concept. I'm hoping the blur is for presentational purposes only?

Just not feeling it. What if you came up with an icon that has movement in it- curves that interact like hip hop movement.

It's good but a bit too sharp for hip-hop perhaps? Something doesn't jel. Looks a bit military to me.

I think the logo you have is way too formal and stodgy for something as fun and loose as hip hop dancing.

5. Attention grabbing
Having said that I do like what you did with the star. Can you expand upon that?

i see like a model agency with this logo. you shouldn't use a star as the symbol.
The logo is look like very serious and the dancing and club is fun offcourse so try the fonts and logo like fun and colorful some swings in it.... Try look at the art works around more designer and very good designers are here try to look at there works and get a diffrent Idea!
