updated water company logo
ilikesalsa (53 pencils) | Sat, 2005-06-25 16:33ok, i've added a water tower to the logo, and i'd like to know if everyone thinks it works in the location... i also changed the secondary text to a different font to clean it up a bit...

That type reminds me of dirty, dingy, grimy warehouses. Not something I want in my water, for sure!
Clean the gunk up, and I think it'll be quite a nice logo.
this is actually the concept that they approved out of the 4 total... they want to convey the rustic image... its a very, very small town in east texas, and none of the residents have any concern for clean water... i know it sounds gross, but its true... this project is for a family friend who heads up the water company, so im personally familiar with the town and i know most of the people who live there...
the water company is the town's only public utility... the electric company is in another town, there are no police officers, firemen, etc... the only 2 businesses in town are a gas station and a campground... its really just a stopping point between 2 other towns...
I think it definitely delivers on the brief. The water tank was a good idea.
I do agree it sounds gross. :)
lol... i completely agree... when they wrote rustic on the creative breif i had them fill out, i was trying to think of a way to go with it without turning it into an old west look... 2 of the designs that i gave them were cleaner and more polished, then i gave them 2 rustic looking ones... i think that they weren't so concerned with the cleanliness of the logo as they are with trying to keep it as non-corporate looking as possible, given the target audience... (its also not like anyone has another water company they can go to... lol)
I love it! The only thing I would *consider* changing is make the tower look faded out/stamped like the "myrtle springs" font. You know, with the little white stuff showing through?
I think that's a good idea.
