Useful Seminars for 2008?

I'd love for this to be one of those great top ten lists that gets pulled into Digg, dugg up quite a ways, earns me a pile of hits to my own website, and piles of new money without really trying to do anything.

But it's not. It's a post where I'm looking for what seminars out there in the world would be beneficial to attend.

I've been to a couple AIGA national conferences and one of the PhotoshopUser Photoshop conferences ... but c'mon, I'm not sure the value is really there.

Recently, I attended a conference that was specific to my industry: credit union marketing. I really enjoyed that conference and made several good contacts there, I do plan on going back, however my employer is looking for me to go to at least one additional one this year.

What different types of educational events have you all attended? What did you get out of them? What were they lacking? I'm open to really anything.

My employer would be happy if I just burnt through the budget for further education at any of the AIGA or Photoshop conferences I've gone to in the past, I just don't think I get much out of those. I'm already rather prolific with the software I use every day ... and the AIGA events I've been to feel more like ego-stroking events.

Am I missing some organization and the best events ever possible that could bring immense value to my position and my organization?

I haven't been yet (angling for this year's conference in boston in may), but everything i've heard about it is very positive. the seminar listings look much broader than the AIGA conference (i really liked the one in DC, i didn't find the denver conference nearly as good (except for really enjoying command-x).

San Diego AIGA Y Conference is always a great bet. The year I went they had Ze Frank as a speaker...
