Occasionally we get asked to come up with a 'logo' so the customer can use on their vehicles etc and this is one case.
No brief as such but to look 'professional'. The symbol is a play on a standard electrical safety sign used in the UK - black/yellow triangle with lightening bolt. I feel the 'Electrical Services' font is not right but other critique welcome.

a retro-branding issue
predictable logo with not so predictable printing results.
you need kerning studies, look "V" to "O", "E" to "R", "R" to "V" spaces.
you are right, typography is the key point and If you don't think too good, don't think too much, change it but maybe your client will love it.
yes I'm brazilian xD
The symbol is a cliche. Try to find something less obvious I suggest. Also, either make the symbol interesting and the typeface plain or make the typeface interesting and don't have a symbol at all. Right now they are fighting for attention.
Kudos for using sinaloa - that's the first time in 25 years I've seen anyone use it.
Now go design something nice.
like qwerty said, there are all kinds of kerning issues. but not bad at all for a confessed "non-designer"
