Water Thing-a-ma-bob

...went over so well I'd be C-R-A-Z-Y not to post another one. Btw - it's a good thing I invested my life savings in that start-up restaurant chain built around the Garden Park identity! Okay - moving on - here's another idea inspired by artwork posted on the board here. You never read the other brief, so I doubt you'll read this one either, but I need the typing practice so here is the original URL anyway...

You forgot:
That's what she said.
Cool logo, but the flower pattern is throwing me off.

uh hum, dead babies. I read the other thread.
the water is too structured, you need more flowing, natural, dare i say organic movement .
maybe if you were to have them all the same colour except for the bottom right ( south east ) it might work?
16 billion colours and you choose the one i cant create !??!
Aw thanx Art I'm flattered that you remade my design :)
Actually handed in basically this exact thing.. haha.. lecturer was very impressed!
So thanks to everyone who helped me! Especially you Art!
Your welcome, Stef. Once you did the flower thing, I kind of figured you would eventually get around to something like this. Obviously your instructor "got it".
VERY surprised no one else did. 3dogmama came closest to "getting it". Here's a hint folks...
Yes - it's a "pattern", yes it's "structured", no it doesn't need to be "more organic".
Hang on a minute,
Let me get this straight,
Someone posted a logo, which you critiqued, gave your advice and then decided you could do better.
You then redesigned the logo, posted it up here to be re-critiqued and have started to get annoyed that no one 'gets' it.
Design is not text book, it is not a matter of right or wrong, there is no correct way and what one person thinks is right others do not.
Congratulations, you have re-designed a logo, i am sorry i dont agree with you.
16 billion colours and you choose the one i cant create !??!
Well you're jumping to a lot of conclusions there, but let's skip those and get right to the heart of the matter... If you're not going to agree (which is perfectly well and good), you should at least understand what it is you disagree with. Good criticism - like good design - has to be based on design logic, reasoning and principles. Your two comments - the "southeast" and "organic" statements - tell me you totally missed the idea. Which is also fine, btw - there's no paycheck involved here. But certainly - as an artist yourself (I'm assuming) - you must understand that defending valid ideas is an important part of every designer's job. So I too am sorry. Sorry that your critique couldn't handle my critique.
Oh Christ dude, you know what would be cool? You keep this logo, make all the "petals" dark blue, except the one pointing to the southeast, make that one light blue.

oi, thats my idea. trademarked now!
16 billion colours and you choose the one i cant create !??!
Ah, I hadn't noticed! This is why it's important to research, whatever idea one will come up with, there's a very good chance it's been done before!

I'm not really impressed by the shape. It's a bit boring, basic and far from unique. Nothing saying South East but Leaky's advice is good.
I'd say try 4 waterdrops (ditch the small ones), and give them different shapes. South East one to be darker or something.
Example:

This company (which produces excellent fishtanks) still has 4 squares in the logo, but not in a boring shape and the 4 parts arn't exactly the same shape.

i thank you.

big NO! where is South East...
horrid paired to this thin typography.
I.H.A.
yes I'm brazilian xD
It's very generic, the 'South East' was the only concept (apart from the obvious water drop) this logo had, and that has been omitted.
Brilliant intro, very Coupland
