CSS theme switching examples

I was looking for a good way to implement a simple theme switcher for creativebits' light theme and found this competition on smashing magazine. The winner has a very sexy OS X style box that moves around and allows switching between several themes. I think it's an overkill for our purposes, but it is certainly inspiring.

I'm not so impressed by the winner. Unless I'm missing something all I see is that the main header graphic changes. Instead I'd love to see the whole site change to match the header, so we get Super Mario-type 8-bit header graphics and courier as body copy when using that style, and super slick graphics and fonts when using a super slick style, etc.

Just seems you can use this concept to seriously reconfigure a site so it says something.

After the great buildup of the theme switcher, the result is a bit of a letdown.
