Podcasting (and Videocasting) the easy way with Drupal

I have recently opened a videocast, and have tried all the solutions there are for Drupal to podcast, and didn't like either one. The first (and simplest) option was to post the videocast to the blog module, but I wanted the blog and the vid/podcast separate. So I modified the blog module to do this. Read on.
This module, once activated, creates a new type of drupal content, namely, the podcast or videocast. Download the attached podcast kit to get started. (The difference between the two modules are only their names, use whichever one you like - you only need one.)
To install, upload one of them to your modules directory. In http://yoursite.com/admin/modules, turn it on. Now you will have a podcast (or vidcast) and http://yoursite.com/podcast (or vidcast if you've installed that one). You will also notice a new content type, so click add to get started. Upload one MP3 or video file per post, give it a name and description. Also select the don't show on front page option.
Uploading through the Drupal interface is easy, but it tends to choke on large files. It's OK for podcast, but videocasts and large files need an FTP interface. There is an easy way to solve this. Take the "dummy" file enclosed in the kit, give it the name of what the final file will be. Let's use "file.mov", you can replace .mov if it's a different type of file, if your computer asks you if you're sure you want to change the filetype click OK. Now upload it through the drupal interface and submit your post (be sure it's submitted). Go to your FTP, take the real file and upload it to the files directory, making sure it has the same name. Here you pretty much have no limits, you can upload files over 15 MB in size if you wish.
Now you know how to submit your pod/vidcast's files. To access your *cast, go to:
http://yoursite.com/videocast/feed/
http://yoursite.com/podcast/feed/
Depending on which module you used.
Your visitors can use this address to access your *cast through iTunes, and subscribe to it, for instance.
Oh, and btw - if anyone out there has an iTMS account, please submit my videocast, because you need a credit card number to do that (even though it doesn't cost anything) which I don't have - iTMS isn't in my country yet.

great work
Cast feed by categorie and member woooo.....
A few words:
podcast and videocast module need drupal upload module on. The feed enclosures (the uploaded mp3. or video) then only just display if u set entry attachment option list checked....

What if I simply search/replace all occurences of "blog" with "podcast" in the blog module? What else did you do besides that?
I have some nifty hacks to inline.module you might like: ability to make inline SWF, MP3, pop open windows, that kind of thing.
Thanks for this - but I don't find a new content type so can't figure out how to actually upload a videocast - or where to place it if using ftp. Can you give a bit of detail on that? BTW, what country are you in? Hong Kong here ;-)
