Third party site traffic verification

Sometimes you want to share your website traffic information with your readers or potential advertisers, but don't want to give them access to your detailed statistics in Analytics or other stat application.
In such cases a third party traffic measurement service can come in handy. It measures your traffic and provides it publicly, but only gives limited details about it. I use quantcast for creativebits.org. The best thing about quantcast is that it shows US traffic separately. It is very important because most advertisers with serious funds are mainly interested in the US market.
It is free and quick to get it up and working. Just sign up and you will be given a small piece of code that you can put into the template of your pages. After a few days your traffic will start to show up.

How does it claim to know demographics? The age, income and gender of a computer user is not obtainable through an IP address. I don't get it.
They are using some kind of a model like in TV ratings. It's not precise at all. With time and more data it may get better.
