.webloc!!
pompo (998 points) | Tue, 2004-10-05 19:52I don't understand why the heck the extension
.webloc has to be added to a web link dragged
from Safari to the dektop (or anywhere else).
Is there a way to get rid of it preserving the functionality
of the bookmark??
As soon a s I remove it, the icon on the doc disappears
and the bookmark doesn''t work anymore, even If I control click
and choose "Open with...Safari"

Then you will use a Mac.
sorry to hear that pompo. i just tried it and it works fine for me, even if i remove the extension. in fact it doesn't matter what name it has, it still works. i wouldn't know how to fix it for you. :(
Works for me as well, no matter the name or if the extension is left on or not.
You could turn off file extension viewing in the Finder prefs.
