Colour works well. Not much that I'd change except to bold up the knocked out text on the right "for only $49..."; the subhead, "Welcome to Orchids", is a little awkward to read--font, size, colour....not sure what it is; and at the bottom, I'd also try black text on the gray bar. The reversed text is hard to read.

Thats a nice layout. Is there a reason for the white space above the navigation? May I suggest to add the quick contact info into that space (phone number address and cross streets). If the page opens restaurant visitors don't have to search for contact info to make reservations or are able to locate the restaurant without looking up the map info (at least the locals). I think the address /cross street combo may not work everywhere though.
Yes, I did think of adding something on the top. I was thinking of a quote or a testimonial kind of thing, but your suggestion for having the contact info seems relevant....wonder how I overlooked that...

Really well done! I'd only say that the background is quite distracting and stronger than the main content. Can it be toned down a little?

Otherwise I like the layout and the colors.
Thats a good suggestion...
Hi el_reverend,
Yes, I did think of adding something on the top. I was thinking of a quote or a testimonial kind of thing, but your suggestion for having the contact info seems relevant....wonder how I overlooked that...
