tgeneral (7 pencils) | Fri, 2008-11-14 03:42I am currently looking for a designer who is experienced in designing logos with meaning and wonderful creativity.
I'm also looking for a web developer to create a hot flash opening to my already designed website. If you fit into any of these categories, please feel free to let me know asap. I have a short timeline. I'll be reviewing proposals over the next week.

I'm trying to bite my tongue regarding your overly expressive ad. In short, why not find designers in your area rather than on the internet, on a website dedicated to designers communicating with each other, not clients?

I absolutely hate Flash intros on Web sites. They're horrible for SEO, and make the reader wait through some silly Flash animation to get to the information they went to the site for to begin with.

while I guess it's smart to go to where you know you can find us, and a flash file isn't geographically dependent the way small order printing would be, at the same time, this is a forum, not a service provider site.
so on one hand there is an option to privately contact some members (just click on the name in the posting)
on the other hand, since this is not a service provider site, there is no escro option, so... buyer beware

While I myself have only done minimal work in Flash, one option may be to check out craigslist.org in your search for a designer.

I don't in any way see a problem with coming to a forum, that's not a service provider site, to offer an opportunity to folks in a specific area of expertise. If networking, etc. is against the forum's rules please let me know.

It's OK as far as I know, I'm just warning you that there are sites designed for that purpose, that can get you someone local if needed, and that offer the potection of paying via an escro accountagainst dissatisfaction. This site does not offer you that protection and is intended for us to discuss design related issues among ourselves. Perhaps though there can be a special section for people to post work they want to vend out.
In the meantime, Jhouse sems to want to help you out, if he or one of the others hasn't alreaady contacted you.
