Try to eliminate 1 text line to make bottom margin OK.
The menu text could be inside buttons. Can't understand why you need duplicated horizontal menu. Just increase the high of buttons or make both different height.
The bubble concept is cliche but good from other concept yet. You could try distribute between (one or two) more different size bubbles with different collors to make them less heavy and more funny.

PS: I think all critiques ABOUT THE JOB are constructive, even some guys can't understand why :]

Why are the navigation buttons misaligned with the text? Not too crazy about the navigation, looks like you cut and paste code in and didn't bother to change the look.

I'd like to see how you are going to treat the other pages.

I dont like this at all. Sorry but I really don't like the colors, and the teal looking color totally clashes with the blue and yellow. The gradient/reflection is waaay too strong and draw as much attention as the words below it and the colored bars above it (mostly because those two elements are too small and narrow)

You might want to play around with not having the speech bubble- the triangle think immediately leads me down and off the page. Either that or you need to break up the content so that you have mutiple content -centered elements working on the page.

I don't know if you want us to the critique the content, but you should look and explore that as well. It feels like you just put the first draft you had in there- If communication is what you're selling- then your reading content needs to be spot on! Again- it's probably just a draft, but I wanted to make sure that it gets addressed for your final revision.

((Me being nitpicky: I would try saying "develop design decide" since revision is innate in the process of design- you don't want to give the impression that things will be set in stone too early on. But hey- I might think about it later and change my mind))

I want to suggest you to upload new versions at new topics because your frequent changes could make people crazy.

Green text is a little hard on the eyes. Is everything going to be to the left? How are you planning the other pages? Where will your work go?

This intro seems really long. No one is going to read this, then go over to your profile to read more. Keep the storytelling for the kids.

That navigation is ghastly.

I'm not sure why you think my nav looks ghastly Leaky. Can you elaborate? What kind of nav do you think I should have....just pure flat colored buttons?

I'm okay with it, although aligning the text under the nav buttons would help.

I'm not seeing alot of visual interest that would mark you as a designer. This looks like a random webpage you did for fun. I would choose a lighter background for teh text to be on, ESPECIALLY if you're gonna put so much text on. I agree with Leaky that you need to cut down the text, or at least separate into more chunks. Also again, that horizontal bar is as strong as the tabs- I feel like viewers are going to have to unreasonable search for that.

Looks like it's aligned to the second nav button on the left and hanging on the right. Justified text should only be used in newspapers and newsletters, btw.

Agree it needs some artwork or graphical elements too.

A couple of thoughts on content.

If you have to explain a design element, then it isn't communicating. Drop the text about why you chose the cartoon bubble and how well it communicates, because it doesn't; feeling the need to say that communicates something that won't help you win clients. Placing ".com" in the bubble would be crazy cute if "com" stood for "communicate," but it doesn't. I don't think you could change that perception because the abbreviation for "communicate" and its variations is usually "comm."

In general, the less you say about yourself, the more eloquently you speak--especially when it comes to presenting your design skills. Right now, your wordy, self-involved introduction sounds more like a child's vanity site than the marketing tool of a professional embarking on a career. I encourage you to delete at least two-thirds of your copy. (Start with all the "my" references.) Pay attention to your punctuation.

If your slogan is "Live, love, laugh, design," then why are you using "develop decide design" in your banner?

I thought that was greeking.
