Webstudio name
bananow (7 pencils) | Tue, 2011-08-30 23:23Hi everyone,
I would like to start a webstudio / webmarketing company. It will be mainly focused on SEO, Reputation Management, WebPR, Web Design and later on (when I have capital) also creation of sites, online stores etc. Just anything to do with a business going online.
I cant come up with a name. I came across a company called BeeOnline which then uses a theme with bees. I really liked the idea of using a homophone or homonym. So if you can think of something like that, it would be great. I will not have a .com site so really just post any ideas that come to your mind. Even the ones that are taken with .com.
Thank you SO much!
Tomas

Butt Munch web studio & web marketing company.
Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

The reason I wont be using a .com domain is that I will be operating in specific countries in Eastern Europe. It is not in order to save money.
That's a good point folks. He obviously only tries to save money when it comes to NAMING the website - not HOSTING it. So rest easy because GoDaddy WILL be getting paid on this one.
I think you should avoid using homophobes.

Forgetting the name for a moment: Why do you want to start a company that does everything?
Doing one thing well enough to stand out and make money is tough enough, but setting out to do everything from Strategy to Marketing seems foolish - that is unless you are a web and business polymath with time to spare.
Moving on to the name: I suspect that your issue is that there isn't one clear thing that your business does. That said, some options are:
1) refine and better define what it is that your business offers - this will make it easier to get a feel for a name that suits what it is that you do.
2) focus on the fact that you do everything when coming up with the name.
3) forget about exactly what it is that your business does and focus on what it does differently, and use that to come up with a name.
4) Hire a branding or design agency.
Oh my God, what a bunch of hypocrites here. I dont want a .com domain because I am not from any English speaking country and I will not be doing business there. I come from Poland and I will be doing business here in Poland. I DONT NEED A .COM DOMAIN! I just wanted an international name and some ideas from other people. Isnt that what this site is about? Creative individuals using their creative minds? I cant believe this...
For those who actually are interested...what do you think of iPromotions?

"It says BeeOnline, and there's a PICTURE OF A BEE!!! I GET IT!"
Hissy-fit aside...
'iPromotions' is probably best avoided. I think only Apple manages to get away with the 'i' prefix these days. I mean that in two ways. First, it feels very dated. Second, it may cause legal issues with Apple themselves.
As I mentioned previously, focus on what it actually is that you do. You've named quite a broad range of services. If you are set on keeping all of them work out what ties them together or what it is that you do differently. That will give you the starting point for a name and identity (and business strategy).
I don't think the word hypocrite means what you think it means.
I hate when people ask for help in naming their company. It's like asking for help naming their kids.

You mean you wouldn't name your twins Optimus Prime and Megatron? Your little girl Bacon? For shame dude.
@OP, I'm not sure what you really expect out of the community on this. Naming a business you're running is a very individualistic process between you, and anyone with a business relationship to the company (share holders, owners, employees, etc). As a side note, it scares me that you're offering creative services and don't even have some names you're throwing up for us to help you decide on. How are you supposed to help other people creative when they don't know what they want if you can't be creative when you have a clear image of what you're after?
