Wedding Invite

Hello Creativebits people everywhere.

A while back I posted a monogram/letter block I created for a friends wedding http://creativebits.org/letter_block .

I just wrapped up the invitations last night, and as promised I am posting them.

It's a different direction than we headed in so many months ago, but I think it suits them much better.

The RSVP card will be perforated, the guests can tear off the post card and retain the vital information (without us having to print another panel).

On the invite, certain words were set in bold, for example 'exchange vows'..... 'august fifth'.... 'hope chapel', creating a quick read, but still maintaining the formalities of a wedding invite.

This is such a nice an awsome project I love the little doves that are so cute, and loving, The RSVP card is a great idea and the chocolate, pink and cream is a perfect solution for a late summer wedding. Way to go, you have a winner...

Later Caya....

Looks professional! I'm only wondering: how freaking expensive is it gonna be ;)

Hi Shawn, I like your solution. My how did the woodcut go? Would be nice to see some photos of the final peices.

Not gonna crit it as it is done, but shouldn't the brides names come first when not using a Mr & Mrs?

I absolutely love this invite and logo! I'm just curious about something... was this an inner racial marriage? The white and brown dove sparked that for some reason.

I also agree with Mitch that it would be nice having Carrie's name first. It's how I read the CJ and S logo.

Hey everyone,

thanks for all the great comments.

Good catch on switching the names around. I'll be making that change.

The woodcut thing never did pan out. I played around trying to get everything to lay down just right, but we decided to go with offset.

No, it's not an interracial marriage, it's more about the masculine and the feminine. Although I must admit, I see where you're coming from.

As far as costs go, I've been making trips to every printer I know, trying to get it to a reasonable price.

The whole concept revolved around a #10 policy envelope... Then I found out they did not make them in the stock I wanted. So by this time I had locked on the perforated RSVP card, and everyone was excited about the design (size included). So far the quotes for printing are around about $200 over budget. But I'll be calling in some favors.

Thanks again. I'll keep you updated.

Hey Shawn,
I'm LOVING this invite! It's contemporary and sophisticated. I'm planning a wedding for '08 and wondered if you could replicate this design? My wedding will be an inner racial marriage and these would be perfict! Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks!

It is nice when one finds good work around here. Your concept is great. I love the color scheme, type and idea.

Well done.
