The Weirdest Job You Ever Held
3dogmama (1991 pencils) | Sun, 2010-10-17 20:53What was the weirdest job you ever held? Mine was setting up the text and doing stock and custom illustrations for head stones.
But it was a job and it was a start.

I was photocopying bibles and other old documents manually. :)
Making a flyer for a stripclub. I didn't get a tour though as I was underage.

Working for the US Postal Service art department. Making signs that said "The Line Forms Here --->" etc...
I once designed a sex-education pack for the local LGB (Lesbian, gay and bisexual) Association. The pack included lube, condoms and instructions that I had to do the illustrations for, explaining how to put them on correctly. I was supplied 10 polaroids of one of their members (excuse the pun) to work from.
living on dreams and custard creams.
i shot a commercial for an all nude strip club. lots of post production camera blur and well-timed edits.
I had a job designing those "You've won $1 Millon!" direct mail pieces. Had to make them all look as official as possible without breaking any laws. It was actually a lot of fun. The same business owner also had us working on game designs for an online gambling site, too.
When one of my freelance clients caught wind I was working for an online gambling site, he forwarded me a spam mail from some other online gambling site wanting to know if it was me who'd sent it. Thankfully I told him that wasn't us, but it was disturbing to see how paranoid it made some people... that they thought I'd violate their trust in me by giving their email address and info to the business I was working for.
