What are CM map Files?
Fraijanes (273 points) | Sat, 2006-06-17 03:32My new In Desing CS2 seems to be messed up...Something I did Messed it and I earease them or something and its not running... Opps I have to reinstall it or what? What Should I do....

Did you go into the Application (Show Package Contents) and mess around with stuff in there, or anywhere in the InDesign folder? If not then the application should still work - I think CM has to do with Postscript colour settings. If all else fails then re-installing shouldn't take long nor do any harm. You might want to trash your InDesign preferences (in home/library/).

I'm pretty sure that cm.map files are to do with font/character mapping. Either way, re-installing should sort out the problem. May even be a problematic font if the problem persists afterwards. Just make sure that you copy any personal templates and third party plugs-ins out of your InDesign folder before you start the re-install – just incase!

Though it would be good to get the definitive word on what these files are. Maybe it'll be in a knowledge base over at Adobe.
I´ll go back and check all the files before reinstalling...
