I must say that I just did not feel wowed by anything this time. The video iPod has been rumored for so long and well the iMac is cool but not cool enough to say WOW. So yea... Ivan, maybe you should add a "No WOW Factor" option... hehehe. I would have selected that :)
Actually I was wowed by Front Row and the remote. I want, I want! But as sweet as it is, the iMac is not the computer for me. I want the Remote features for my current and future Macs.
Well, my iPod was recently ruined by a certain rainstorm in NYC... so I'm looking at getting a new iPod soon. I'm just happy that the release date for the new video iPod came so soon after my old one was rendered useless.
Overall - as an AAPL shareholder.. I *really* liked what i saw.
- iMacs will surely meet demand expectations (perhaps exceed)
- iTunes will be more profitable with the gifting feature and videos
- The iPod lineup really makes sense now from $99-$399
That said, overall I can't get too excited about the ipod - it's about what i was expecting.. i give the whole event a 6 out of 10.
Although I like everything that was released none of it is that amazing. The stuff that Apple really need is around the corner (announcements round 3 perhaps). I think the Intel chipped machines need to come soon to give the full range a speed boost.
The laptops are in desperate need of a refresh hopefully with a full on WOW factor of some kind to take back the top spot in the market place.
G5 desktops need to have cooler chips to bring down their size, just too big for my liking. There is nothing stylish about a hunk of industrial strength and size casing.
mac Mini needs a speed boost and some of the features included in the new iMac. Like the remote and option for plugging into a standard TV to make it a digital hub for your average home user.
Servers need multithreading Intel chips to compete in their market place.
Finally video content on iTMS is great. Not that it affects me, because we don't even have the music yet. But, still this is a step to the right direction. I can't wait for true pay per view / content on demand TV accessible from anywhere at any time thorough the net.
Creativebits is a blog about creativity, design and Macs. We also have a critique section where you can post your work to get opinions and a forum to discuss any design related topics.
Can't say it beat particulary for any of the "3"

I just added "New WOW" as Gody requested :)

The only thing that made me say WOW! was the fact that they're EOL'ing the eMac.
Despite what I've read elsewhere, a CSR at the Apple Store HQ told me that the'yre even going to be phased out of the education market.
The eMac is such a great little system, and was perfectly priced to fill a certain portion of the market.
I've recommended the eMac to scores of people. Now it's gone, and I'm more than a little upset about it.

No wow for me. Not until I get a PowerBook!
