What should I call my work in the impressum?
worthlord (22 pencils) | Tue, 2007-12-11 11:47Now, of course I waited till I've a question to signup... ahoi altogether!
Thing is, usually I make German stuff but now I've this international thing so probably one of you native english peoples can help me out.
I currently make an art book, applied arts, pretty academic stuff. It's awesome. I did the typesetting/composition (oldscool, very delicate) and the image editing (all colour managed with profiles and stuff, loads of pics). Work closely with the editors. Now I also should choose a printer, so do the print-organisation, choose the paper, watch it happen.
I've max. 2 words to label what I've done in the impressum.
The editors proposed 'graphic design'. I don't feel like taking graphic design credit, since it's almost a 1:1 copy of last years edition. Well, besides the cover of course and a few little adjustments, less colours etc. But the basic grid and the typefaces are almost the same.
Production something? Monkey? Please bear in mind the academic nature of this publication.

How about Creative Director?

...that's not too bad. I mean I certainly did the work of a creative director. But maybe something that doesn't sound so much like a job title would be better. There's 'Concept', 'Editors' and 'Photography'.
See, the director might be a bit much. I certainly like the creative part.
Oftentimes we use the word 'Creative' as a noun. You could call yourself the Creative on the project.

That could work. Creative.
Creative Bits would fit just well.
Creative Work? Not very sexy.
Anyway, thanks! If nothing else comes up I'll choose the noun.
