Im not buying any pro hardware until I see what Intel have done to the mac range.
Aperture looks awesome, but I dont have a big enough need to spend the £350 just yet, photoshop does enough for my needs. I would definatly like to try it out though!

I would buy Aperture no question. It looks awesome. I don't think there is anything even close to this is in quality of workflow.
I agree, absolutely. Too bad it would be useless for me, not being a photographer. My 4.0 MP camera can't take RAW and even if it could... my hard drive isn't that big nor is my PowerBook anywhere __near__ fast enough to use that program (aside from a lack of core image support!). :D
If you were the photographer, the image processor, and the editor it means you have to double the time it takes you to deliver the images if you plan to use different apps (generate TIFF files, then edit them).
However, if there were separate people that can do the different tasks, then yes. Time will be saved, and deadlines met.
Ad agencies are getting more and more impatient, as if they call the day before the ad has to appear in prints. So, Total workflow time counts a lot..

So, you're saying that if you have to use Photoshop, than you would rather not introduce Aperture in your workflow because it's an extra step?
Yes... One of the reasons I'm using CS2 is the elimination of extra steps.. I don't think Adobe Camera RAW processing is that much behind, it produces excellent images.

I’m waiting for a new PowerBook with a super cool (temprature that is) chip.
The new ones are nice, with improved screens and specs but I think the Intel ones will be groundbreaking. They need to be to take back the rightdul place of Apple at the top of the laptop tree :D

But I was going to buy one anyway. This just kind of adds ice cream to the cake.

Apple let's people who bought stuff the recent 14 days off to regret and get the new stuff.. Pretty nice of Apple :)
I think they always had that policy. Very nice of them.
Is there any real difference between the new Dual 2Ghz and the old? I could save $500 getting a refurbished one.
But not much really. I would say go for the refurbished one.
Duel core outperforms duelies last I read I think.
