RonSper (31 points) | Tue, 2009-09-08 04:33This is a first draft of logo that is going to be used on a word service (like: dictionary, spell check, word of the day) site.
The site's name is WhatWord. Url: whatword.org(not up yet) and the green leaves(getting redone) is going to unify the papa site (logo: http://yuzudesign.com/Yuzu_icon2.jpg).
The "papa site" logo is going to also get redone (http://creativebits.org/yuzudesigncom) and the website is also getting redone and is currently outdated.
Thanks, and look forward to your critique,

I'm confused. What is it you want us to critique, this or the next thing you put up, or the "papa site," and if so, which one?

What do you think of this logo?
Color me confused as well. The one thing I can comment on is the leaf in the Yuzu design and the "leaf" in this design do not correspond at all so that won't "unify" anything in the viewer's perception of things.
It sounds like you are rebooting everything at once, so why not approach it from a large interacting project angle instead of multiple ideas that will somehow be tied together? Think corporate identity as opposed to individual pieces.
Im sorry for not being very clear, I am going to upload one with a leaf on it later. The two companies are kinda like google and youtube. Google owns youtube but they offer completely different services. The only difference between that analogy and this project is I want something (the leaf) to unite them together.
But for now, ignore the leaf thing and the yuzu design parent company. How do you like the logo as it is?
Thanks,

This looks like it's still in the germination stage to me - a sketch that might turn into something with a little work. Something easy that would make a world of difference here (imho) would be to dump the letter "a" and create your own by duping the "d" and shortening the ascender. Try it and see.
that is a GREAT idea... i'm going to give that a try!
thanks.
