Woman who became a zombie

I started work on a random illustration (in illustrator then photoshop) which was meant to be a vaguely attractive woman. Although I'm quite happy with the end product she's got a certain zombie-esque look about her, unfortunately :)

Umm...
Although I like the drawing..usually when I try to draw something, it comes out how I want it to. That being said, if you want an attractive lady, and come out with a zombie, something went wrong.
lines on the face
I think the more lines you draw on a characters face, the more haggard they look. Especially with women and babies. Check out some of your favorite female cartoon characters for example. I'm sure you will see they have few lines and some features are even implied. There is still time to help this hags face out.
At least she's wearing the right colour for today!
I don't think it's the wrinkles that are producing a scary woman. I think it's her angular features and...is that an adam's apple poking out the side of her neck?
If you really want to drive the Zombie theme home, have some thread dangling from her lips, some soil and spent leaves caught up in her red tresses and clothe her in burial dress.

Thanks for the interesting comments, people.
There's a few things for me to go away and mull over.
I think I agree that it's not soo much the lines (although the placing of these lines is pretty important!) but the features themselves. Maybe the eyes are a bit lop-sided. I might, as an experiment, try a proper all-out zombie version at the weekend.
Thanks,
Luke

Hey
Not necessarily the lop sided eyes, which actually aren't that bad. I see bags under her eyes and sharp cheekbones. If you replaced those lines with tones, she'd look a little younger...
Soften lines
Try softening the lines along the bridge of her nose

just a suggestion
I think overall it the body is well proportioned.
The face however, I find the features very large for a such a narrow face.
Try making the eyes a tad bit smaller. The left eye seems to be slanted upwards and the right eye looks like its popping out of the face. (I think due to the way the hair is sitting.)
I think if you use a bit of a gold undertone for shading it would make the image look less "deadly" and more of a vibrant glow. However, that might give the image a different skin tone than what you wanted.
And add some shine to the lips!! :)
A girl has got to have gloss!
