Yahoo Analytics

We've recently added Yahoo's Analytics to our sites, and I was very surprised to see they're actually tracking gender and age. I'm wondering how they actually manage to track this (accurately at that!)

I'm still new to their analytics tool, so I've yet to find an answer on their own site. Was just wondering if anyone here knew how this is working offhand.

I'll continue my search for answers in their help documentation, too.

Thanks!

They can only do that for visitors who have yahoo accounts. They probably extrapolate that info to everyone.

Thanks, Ivan - that's what I was suspecting. And even that information may not be all that accurate, either.
