ZAMA event
futuresign (71 pencils) | Tue, 2009-10-20 20:53This logo was used by "Amtgard", a medieval reenactment group for their annual live-action roleplay Zombie event.
We definitely wanted this to have a comic book feel to it.
p.s.
I know some of you might say "this is an illustration" and it is, but it was used as a logo.

For a dead guy, this zombie really gets around. Wait a minute... is a "live" action zombie event even possible?
LOL! Count this oxymoron in to the event!

I thought that zombie looked familiar....
If this is already sold why are we critiquing it?

I am wanting a critique on my projects so that I can better understand how to create better designs in the future. I have been a designer for almost 20 years now, and I feel I may have gotten a bit stale. It is hard to find people that will honestly critique my work anymore, so I appreciate this forum for any honest critiques that I may receive.
All I ask is honesty so that I may use it to better myself and my style.
I'll be honest with you, I respect your wanting to learn more and want to create better designs, but I don't know if critiquing existing designs is the way to go. I'd suggest some books on design basics, and there are TONS of websites that can give you tips and hints on what's hot in design today. Going about it one design at a time might not be the most effective way to go about it.
I'd love to see you create some fresh artwork for yourself, and present. We can walk you through it, you can figure out the proper creative process that works for you.
But hey, that's just me.

Too much going on with the differing typefaces and the gradients and the outlined letters.
