If you want to create a website that exudes a sense of calm, stability, and grandeur, then mountain backgrounds may be just the thing you need. Mountains are often associated with strength, steadfastness, and a deep connection to the natural world. By incorporating mountain backgrounds into your web design, you can create a visual landscape that is both beautiful and evocative.
Hiring a Professional Web Designer

Conclusion

1. Choosing the Right Mountain Background

The first step in incorporating mountain backgrounds into your web design is to choose the right image. There are many different types of mountains to choose from, and each one will convey a slightly different mood. For example, snow-capped mountains might create a feeling of coldness and detachment, while lush green mountains might create a sense of warmth and welcoming.

2. Using Mountain Backgrounds to Create a Sense of Depth

One of the advantages of using mountain backgrounds in web design is the way they can create a sense of depth. By placing a mountain image in the background of your website, you can make it seem like the foreground elements are closer to the viewer. This can create a more immersive experience for your visitors.

3. Using Mountain Backgrounds to Evoke Emotion

Mountains are powerful and emotive symbols. By using them in your web design, you can evoke a sense of awe, wonder, and inspiration. This can be particularly effective if you are designing a website for a business or organization that deals with nature, travel, or adventure.

4. Making Your Text Pop Against a Mountain Background

One potential challenge of using mountain backgrounds is making sure that your text is still readable. To ensure that your text stands out against the background, use a contrasting color and consider adding a text shadow or background color to make it more visible.

5. Incorporating Mountains into Your Branding

If you are designing a website for a business, incorporating mountains into your branding can be a great way to reinforce your message. Mountains can represent strength, stability, and a connection to the natural world. By incorporating these themes into your branding, you can create a stronger emotional connection with your audience.

6. Creating a Sense of Scale with Mountain Backgrounds

Mountains are also great for creating a sense of scale. By using a large, panoramic mountain image as your background, you can create a feeling of vastness and grandeur. This can be particularly effective for websites that deal with adventure, exploration, or discovery.

7. Using Mountain Backgrounds to Highlight Content

Another way to use mountain backgrounds is to draw attention to specific content on your website. For example, you might use a mountain background to highlight a call-to-action button or to draw attention to a particularly important piece of information.

8. Finding the Right Balance

One potential danger of using mountain backgrounds is that they can be overwhelming or distracting if they are too prominent. To avoid this, make sure that your mountain background is subtle enough to support your content without overpowering it. You want your mountain background to enhance the overall aesthetic of your website, not detract from it.

9. Ensuring Compatibility with Different Devices

When designing a website with a mountain background, it is important to ensure that it looks good on different devices. The image may appear differently on a desktop computer versus a mobile device, so it is important to test your website on different devices and adjust the image accordingly.

10. Staying Consistent Across Different Pages

Consistency is key in web design, so it is important to use the same mountain background across all pages of your website. This will create a cohesive and unified look that will enhance the user experience.

11. Optimizing for SEO

Using mountain backgrounds in your web design can also have SEO benefits. By optimizing your image with alt tags and descriptive file names, you can increase your website’s visibility on search engines.

12. Testing and Tweaking Your Design

As with any web design element, it is important to test and tweak your mountain background until you find the perfect balance. This may involve adjusting the image size, color, or placement to ensure that it complements your content without overpowering it.

13. Taking Inspiration from Other Websites

If you are struggling to incorporate mountain backgrounds into your web design, take a look at other websites for inspiration. Look for websites that effectively use mountain backgrounds and take note of what works and what doesn’t.

14. Hiring a Professional Web Designer

Finally, if you are not confident in your web design skills, consider hiring a professional web designer to help you incorporate mountain backgrounds into your website. A professional designer can ensure that your website looks polished and professional while effectively utilizing mountain backgrounds.

15. Conclusion

Mountain backgrounds can be a powerful and evocative addition to any web design. By following these tips and guidelines, you can effectively incorporate mountain backgrounds into your website and create a visual landscape that is both beautiful and engaging.

Tropical Color Palette Photos for your inspiration

Introduction

Choosing the perfect tropical color palette for your design can be challenging. With so many colors to choose from, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. In this article, we will provide you with a detailed guide to help you choose the perfect tropical color palette for your design.

Understanding Tropical Color Palettes

Before we delve into how to choose the perfect tropical color palette, it is essential to understand what constitutes a tropical color palette. Tropical colors are inspired by the lush and vibrant colors found in tropical environments. These colors are typically bright, bold, and saturated, and they include hues of green, blue, orange, pink, and yellow.

How to Choose the Perfect Tropical Color Palette

Choosing the perfect tropical color palette requires a good understanding of color theory and how different colors work together. Below are some steps to guide you in selecting the ideal tropical color palette for your design.

Step 1: Choose a Dominant Color

The first step in choosing the perfect tropical color palette is to select a dominant color. This color will be the main color used in your design and will set the tone for the overall look and feel. Some popular dominant colors for tropical color palettes include shades of green, blue, and pink.

Step 2: Select Complementary Colors

Once you have chosen your dominant color, the next step is to select complementary colors that will work well together. Complementary colors are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel, such as blue and orange, green and pink, or yellow and purple. Using complementary colors will create a harmonious and balanced color palette.

Step 3: Add Accent Colors

After selecting your dominant color and complementary colors, the next step is to add accent colors. Accent colors are used to add interest and depth to your design. These colors should be used sparingly to avoid overwhelming your design. Examples of accent colors for tropical color palettes include shades of yellow, turquoise, and coral.

Step 4: Test Your Color Palette

Once you have selected your tropical color palette, it is essential to test it to ensure that it works well together. You can do this by creating a color swatch or mood board to see how the colors work together. If any colors clash or look out of place, you may need to make adjustments to your color palette.

Conclusion

Choosing the perfect tropical color palette requires a good understanding of color theory and how different colors work together. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can create a harmonious and balanced color palette that will enhance your design. We hope that this guide has been helpful in your quest to choose the perfect tropical color palette.

And while there’s certainly no shortage of tools to create these, newcomers are always welcome that manage to combine simplicity and image quality with a low price point. Enter Occipital’s 360 Panorama for iOS and Android. This dumbs things down nicely by simply requiring the user to tap the screen and pan, with the app creating a panorama in real time. Once complete you can save or share it, with viewing possible as a photo or an immersive experience. Fun stuff.

The Marquis de Sade once pointed out that, ‘Those who define are the masters.’ And it’s hard to argue with the fact that those who make the rules, run the game. In commerce, this shows up when firms coin a new term that they hope will redefine the marketplace, thus providing a competitive advantage. I thought of this recently after receiving a press release from StockFood.com, which describes itself as ‘the worldâ€s largest food media agency.’

In that regard it perhaps doesn’t have much competition but the firm clearly does offer a solid collection of stock photography and footage dedicated to food, comprised of images from more than 1,000 photographers. Beyond that, StockFood has a history of identifying ‘trends’ such as Blue Light, Shabby Chic, Berry Colors and ‘the strong pastel style known as Passion Fruits.’

Mystic Light is the latest of these and supposedly ‘shows the influence of the Scandinavian photographers who first exploited light effects of northern Europe, where Mystic Light originated. Cool Nordic lighting makes an effective contrast with much darker background colors, which are sometimes almost black. The minimalist arrangements of food and drink in these shots are reminiscent of the classic still life. Props are kept simple and frill free. Overall, the images create an impression of mystery, even fantasy, an effect often associated with the white nights of midsummer in the far North. The photographs evoke ancient myths and conjure new stories.’

The ancient myths angle may be a bit of a stretch but I can’t argue that the images, which include many shot by noted Scandinavian photographers, do stand out from current food photography, which is for the most part pretty banal. You can check out the images in the Mystic Light collection and decide for yourself. Personally, I remain unconvinced about Passion Fruits.

I’ve included a few more of their promotional clips below for no better reason than they’re fun to watch.

Hungry yet?

What to do! You have taken a lovely photo, only to take it home and discover this purplish haze around the edges of the subject??

The most common cause of purple fringing is low light with high-contrast boundary areas in an image. So in the case of my example above, I took a photo of a reflective surface on a sunny day with the sun shining behind it.
Oh woe is me! Well.. never fear.. there is a way to fix this photo using Photoshop, I am going to show you the way that was easiest for me, of course there are a number of ways to do this… but I found this method to be the easiest to remember and most effective!

Step 1: Open up the image in Photoshop

Step 2: Using the toolbar, select image>adjustments>hue/saturation. A small hue/saturation box should appear on the screen.

Step 3: In the drop down menu that says Master, select Magentas. Now move the saturation slider down to -50, and move the lightness slider down to -50.

Step 4:If needed repeat steps 2 and 3

Now the Purple Fringing is gone.. Hoorah!!

Thanks to Hilary Quinn from Freestockmagic for allowing me to reproduce her tutorial.
