Live Stickers: A Personalized Experience

One of the most exciting aspects of the update is the Live Stickers feature. With this, users can convert subjects from their photos or paused videos into dynamic stickers, offering a high level of customization and adding a touch of personality to their conversations.

To create a Live Sticker, simply scroll through your photos or Live Photos, select the subject you want to turn into a sticker, and voila! The system intelligently isolates the moving subject, converting it into a looping animated sticker. Further elevating the user experience, these stickers can also be enhanced with effects, making each sticker truly one of a kind.

Centralized Sticker Drawer

The centralized sticker drawer is another major improvement. This dedicated space houses all your Live Stickers, emoji, Memoji, and other sticker packs, ensuring easy access across all iOS devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs, thanks to iCloud syncing. This means you can have all your favorite stickers right at your fingertips, no matter the device you’re using.

Visual Look-Up Improvements

With iOS 17, Apple also enhances the Visual Look Up tool, empowering users to garner more information about subjects cut out from their own photos, a feature introduced with iOS 16. Whether it’s pets, plants, or landmarks, you can “pick up” an object from a photo, transform it into an image, and paste it into a text message or any other application.

Within hours Apple will release iOS7 to the whole world all at once. Many want to get their hands on it right away. Here are 5 reasons why you should wait a few more days with the upgrade.

1. Even though Apple uses Akamai for their downloads, they usually can’t cope with millions of people downloading large files all at the same time. Save yourself the trouble of restarting the download several times and watching the progress bar crawl. By tomorrow the servers will be blazing fast.

2. There are always a few bugs in new software that only come out when the software is finally in the open. It’s better to wait another week until the first 7.0.1 bug fix version comes out for smooth sailing.

3. Most developers updated their apps to be fully iOS7 compatible, but you may be using an odd app that is critical to you and hasn’t been yet updated in some way. Wait for a few days until the developers catch up.

4. You have to back-up your iOS devices before upgrading just to be safe and that should take care of any issues, but there may be some unexpected kinks with the upgrade process that you will learn from the internet or friends in the coming days. Learn from other’s experience, save yourself the trouble.

5. Most importantly, you may not even want to upgrade because iOS7 is slower on your older device or works differently from what you’re used to. You may decide that the new features and look is not worth losing the responsiveness.

The new Airport Time Capsule is one sweet piece of hardware that can replace lots of hardware and cables with one slick tall white box.

In a nutshell it is 3 things in one:

  • Superfast 1300 Mbps WiFi (802.11ac) base station
  • 2-3TB of Time Capsule backup hard disk
  • Allows you to connect a printer or another HD to access wirelessly

The only thing is doesn’t do is stream iTunes music to external speakers. Only the smaller Airport Express can do that.
