Cool. Those are not so much "minimalist" as just being well designed logos imho. No photoshop effects necessary.
I've seen "crown" and "look" before though. "Folder" was stolen from the munky guy currently on the critique page.

The logos are largely "elegant". Just enough, not too much.

Steve, chill, if we all liked the same thing the world would be a very boring place. If you don't get these logos don't bang on about it. You'll start to look unhinged!
In the words of Leonardo da Vinci "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication".
Personally I like to think of these logos as classy. They show nothing that is unnecessary and everything that is essential.
As for the comment about not employing anyone who likes them. I imagine that's fine with all who have praised these logos.
I think the logo's are great. Leave everything out and you'll get the essence of the design. Those kind of logo's are communicating very well, because there is enough flashy stuff around. People looking for serenity in an over-advertised world.
