I like the idea, but I think this would have a stronger personality- the leaf is looking generic as well as the hand. Why don't you make it more of an illustration instead? The lower font works well with Green Peace but it will probably disappear once the logo is reduced.
thanks for that advice, I created an identity guide for this logo as to how it could be used and stated a certain size spec. and how small this logo could get until you would lose the tag line, then to go smaller you would lose the tag line and only use greenpeace. I'm gonna throw in an illustrated leaf and try a more dynamic approach to the fist.
hi vagablonde
the hand could be simplified and improved
the typography could be less mainstream less "downtown", it doesn't combine with ativist criteria.
yes I'm brazilian xD
These icons have been overused in the past, but here you present them in a fresh way. I like it, but if you say there's much more you'd like to do with this, I'd like to see it.

Total cliche in my book. Okay - you tossed in the leaf - you'll probably get a passing grade... but what an opportunity for a nice portfolio piece! This is one of the few school projects that will carry the same weight as a real job in your portfolio. Everyone knows Greenpeace - come up with an exciting new twist on their logo and you'll impress art directors every time you open your book.
As always... jmho.
Agree with Art D. It will surely lost in green logo jungle & the idea is a bit oldish.
Thanks!

Actually, now that I think about it, the closed fist may point towards the more militaristic actions of Greenpeace. That could work against you, expecially is you're trying to push them as a peaceful organization.

Exactly. The fist always reminds me of the Black Panthers (although they really didn't use a fist - they had the creeping panther). But the fist is mostly associated with the black power movement... the guys in the Olympics holding up their fists on the medal platform and the fist picks the black folks used to carry in their back pockets, etc... It's basically a sign of revolt. Even though they attack the whalers on the high seas and take other aggressive actions - I don't think Greenpeace is actively encouraging that image.
Looks like green war to me.
ironic, but the little peace sign with no circle looks like a missile...
Everyone knows fists and missiles symbolize peace.
the fist actual has a representation of protest.
exactly, if it's a protest logo, needs to be viewed better from distance.
your typography needs to be more strong with a good kerning. =]
