Not long ago, I wanted to uninstall Version Cue 1.1 so that I could install 2.0, but the uninstaller crapped out on me and refused to run. There is no need to panic in a situation like this, simply remove the following files:

/Applications/Adobe Version Cue/
/Library/PreferencePanes/VersionCue.prefPane
/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.versioncue.plist
/Library/StartupItems/AdobeVersionCue/
/Users//Library/Preferences/com.adobe.versioncue.plist

This is equivalent to running an uninstall. After this, you may install Version Cue again. If you would like to uninstall Version Cue CS2, remove the files above (they are the same, only with “CS2” in their names).
