Updated: 5-October 2004

Some features we know you've wanted (and one we should have had all along):

Gmail Notifier

Want to know if you've got new mail? Let us do the checking so you don't have to. Find out when new messages arrive, and even see their subjects, senders and snippets, all without having to open a web browser. Learn more

Search your contacts

With the new and improved Contacts list, search for a contact as easily as you would a message in Gmail. Add notes and phone numbers. View messages directly from the Contacts list. Stay in touch with the people in your life more easily than ever before. Learn more

Automatic forwarding to another email account

We're testing a new feature that lets you forward new incoming messages to any email account you want. It's free during the test and you can set it up in seconds. Even set up filters to forward only some of your messages. It's your mail. Get it the way you want it. Learn more

And finally... Save Drafts!

For when you can't find the right words, save drafts and find them later. Learn more

and that's what I thougth the email notifier was!!

Instead it's a small app to download (peecees only for now)

To use the Gmail Notifier, you need Windows 2000, Windows XP, or a more recent version of Windows.

The Notifier is not compatible with Macintosh or Linux systems at this time, but we look forward to offering support for more operating systems in the future.

I wan't a feature that writes, reads and takes care of my e-mail for me all together. So I don't have to do a thing!

That way I can spend more time doing something more fun! :D

I was being kind of tongue-in-cheek... I just like the idea of adding extra steps of being e-mailed whenever I get an e-mail.

i see. :)

it took time, but i got a solution. whenever you receive a gmail autoforward it to me. i will send a PM to MacGizmo on this forum. he will create a topic asking the community to send your best friend an SMS. he will send a Hawaii postcard to your lawyer, who will ask his secretary to type up a quick note to your wife about the news. you wife will open up the letter and sit down to her PC and send an MSN instant message to you mother in law. each day she gets a message she will put out two empty milk bottles in the morning instead of the usual one, sot that the milkman would know action needs to be taken. so, he will sound his van horn. this will make the neighbours dog bark, which will wake the old lady over the street. she will make an angry call to the police. the police comes out and will find nothing, so they make a radio contact to the station saying: "it's all ok", this transmission will be picked up by a radio amateur, who will finally send you a nitification to your primary email saying "you've got gmail". do you think that might work? ;)

Dammit, I'm choking on my breakfast here! That's funny, and it just might work!

I had a hell of a time setting it up, but now that it's up and running, it's pretty nice, and it integrates well. It doesn't download anything in the spam folder on your gmail account, which is nice.

If anyone has a gmail invite that they would like to donate, I would love to take it off your hands.

Thanks,

And works fine.... at the moment.

I use Mail.app to integrate all my email accounts, the Gmail Pop server is a little bit slow, but works, and keeps me out of Safari.

i think they have stopped giving away invitations, haven't got any for a while...

i think i've set everything up well, it wasn't difficult since there is a straightforward step by step tutorial about it on the gmail site, but for some reason the connection is not very stable. it started downloading my 500 something emails and at around 40 it stopped. than i quit Mail.app and started again, but it stopped again at 50 something... :(
