iPad 2 will not have a Home button

If you want an iPad with the iconic Home button get a first generation now, because the soon to be announced iPad 2 will not have one. The Home button will be replaces by a multitouch gesture that is introduced in iOS 4.3. The pinch motion will take you back to the home screen and the swipe up and sideways will let you navigate through your apps. See the video below.

Looks like in order to use the iPad 2 you will need at least 4 fingers. Play nice with the Yakuzas folks.

it's interesting because now we always rotate the iPad and need to search left or right for the button... or we click the standby button directly.

if the gesture crashes on some app you can restart with standby button.

very annoying that pinch gesture that makes the GUI stretched as a gelatin...

It will still have a home button, the pinch gesture will just be an ad on.
