photography?
All the sudden, I've been given several opportunities to assist other photographers. I have always done photography as a hobby, but I just got a brand new fancy camera and now the requests are coming in like mad for me to help others! I just got the camera this week and already 2 requests to help. One is a one time thing and the other will be an ongoing thing-- helping assist with weddings.
Obviously, it will be fun as I love Photography but, it will also look awesome on my resume. I guess I better start a photography portfolio. How do you add photography to your GD portfolio or do you have a separate portfolio for your photography? I kind of ignored this part in my portfolio class in college as I never thought I'd need to know!
Ironically, this is all happening as I start a Masters program. Something is going to have to give. I'm not that stretchy.
i think you have to decide
i think you have to decide what role it's going to play in your portfolio/career.
if it's "part" of what your whole portfolio is, i see no problem with it being a separate section of your normal portfolio (print | ID | web | photography).
if it's a separate career path and you want it to stand alone, maybe you want a separate site (or maybe subdomain, like photography.pokie.com).
you need to think about it not only from that perspective (i.e., your perspective), but from a potential client's perspective. how do you want *them* to view your photography work?
Agreed
Ideally, you'd want one each way for flexibility to fit the situation. If you plan on doing wedding/event photography as a side thing, that's a different style than aking photos of products to put in catalogs and adverts or photographing models for perfume ads in magazines. There's different requirements for each, right?

Well, mine's a Canon S5
Well, mine's a Canon S5 which is barely adequate for what I need it for ;) a high end point and shoot which is OK, but I can't get those distance shots that a better lens would help me out with
I just uploaded some Pics of the ice storm we had here:
Ice Storm
Mostly I took bracketed exposure shots, and the only post processing I've done so far has been to reduce the file resolution and add the watermark. there are some I want to try experimenting with the sky from the bracketed exposures, but I'll work on that later.

Great shots, and at least
Great shots, and at least you can still see your water. Snowmobiles are already racing across our frozen lake.

Thanks!
it's not all liquid though, I'll be adding more to that gallery over the next few days as I go through them. There's some with geese on the ice. There's actually more ice now in spite of the warm day we had.

Hi,
Photography is a interesting job. By this we come close to the natures. We can see a number beautiful scenery given by the nature. But it is a difficult task to make a good photography.
