About:
In April of 2018, the Marvel superhero film Avengers: Infinity War was released in theaters around the United States. In the film, a character called Black Panther, played by Chadwick Bosman, utters a now well-known quote “We don’t do that here.” In this scene, two characters arrive in Black Panther’s hometown called Wakanda, and attempt to bow to him because he is the king, to which he responds with this quote, “We don’t do that here.”
Since then this meme has been made into an image macro with this quote, used as a punchline to jokes about the social faux pas.

Hours after its release, this image was posted as a series of gifs on Tumblr. The post received more than 4,200 notes in around 6 weeks. Two weeks following this initial post, another Tumblr user edited the text while using this famous line as a response.
