I really HATE dark web sites. They can be somewhat beautiful but are a real pain to read, and I'm not saying this metaphorically: they really hurts the eyes. Ok, not so much with image galleries, but it does make text unbearable. That's one of the reasons I only keep up with creativebits via RSS, btw. Really, who was the first to think that light gray over black or dark gray was a good idea? The only designs I saw like that that worked were on print, and used in moderation.
Also, how can it be unconventional and elite if everyone is doing it?
