Fix blurry text in web graphics

PS KerningWhen using small text in web graphics in either Photoshop or ImageReady, you may notice that your text looks blurry at small point sizes (usually, anything below 12 to 14 points). Running a sharpening filter over rasterized text only serves to make it look worse.

Creating favicons

The favicon is a the small icon that appears next to the URL of the websites in your browser. They also appear in the bookmarks. Also, many people disable them to speed up their browser.

You need to put this icon into the root of your site to make it appear accross all of your pages. For more details you may want to read this.

Firefox is not a fox

It's a Chinese name for a Panda.

It looks like Mozilla's Firefox will reach one million downloads within two weeks. Currently 58% of the visitors to this site is using Safari, 20% IE and 1% OmniWeb. Firefox has grown from 12% to 17% in the last three month.

Bright future with Google

I'm a big fan of Google. I think the possibilities of organizing and restructuring all the information the human race has ever created with a powerful network of computers is within reach. We are just starting to understand and explore the ways we can tap into this goldmine. Google is doing a great job and their pioneer projects excite me.

Speed up Safari start-up

Safari is a great browser but as you might have experienced, it starts up slower and slower as time goes by. There is a simple reason for it. The little favicons associated with the web sites that you visit are stored in a folder, so that they can appear in your bookmark list and give you an easier overview of the titles. Once you have dozens of such little site icons, the start-up takes longer, because Safari has to load all the little icons.

My subjective Omniweb review

I've been waiting for the omniweb 5 to come out for a long time. I've tried a beta, but it was not stable, however I loved the features.

I've been testing for some time now and I'm still not jumping from joy. It can do all that Safari and Firefox and more. I has features that are actually useful and cool. But, I feel this edition is a bit premature.
