Business Card

Please comment on these cards. The challenge was both people and title need to be on the card for legal reasons. At any rate I would say the goal was very simple abstract card, modern but no gimmicks, and no iconographic logo. Any preference?

I would go for the green version. It's much more interesting than the first and the 3/4 fill fits in nicely. Like it gives people a more confident feel.

Somehow the first design seems too common.

I like the green for the simplicity of the back. I think the principal on the front of the green is completely not clear.. Front needs more work for sure.

btw, I never heard about having two names on one business card. What's the reason? Maybe there is a different solution to it...

I like the orange version best. I like the open space, the way it draws the eye down. The green one gives all the exciting color area first, then your eye is left hanging at the end. There's no visual magnet to draw your eye down.

However, that being said, I feel that the bottom portion of the orange, where the contact info is, should be formatted differently. The two blocks are justified in different directions, and centered in the middle. There's no cohesive flow. I would either justify them both either left or right, and move them to the corresponding side (justified left, move to the left). It will allow the eye to flow and read easier. Perhaps, for interest, flip the colors for the back. Make the orange on top in the same amount of space the white took up in the front, and vice versa. I think it makes for an interesting card!

Good ideas...

The two person mandate is due to the principal not having a landscape architecture licence in the State of California. So we need to show titles and "landscape architect" to Michael, and have both names on it.

I like the green one a lot, the color just sits well with me. You may also want to check out some of the Green Business Cards over at http://www.zimzang.com. Besides being made from recycled stock and being quite affordable, the designs may give ideas for the future.
